Exploring Law & Government Careers

Why Join?  Our Post will help you learn about the many opportunities that exist in law and government.  Guest speakers include practicing attorneys, judges, and other leaders in the Indianapolis legal community.  We also will visit the IU-McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis, where we will meet with law school administrators and students.

When Do We Meet, and What Do We Do? We will meet one evening per month from October 2023 through April 2024 and likely will have a social event in May 2024.  (In past years, we have received tickets to the Grand Prix held in mid-May at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.) In addition, we will offer you opportunities to observe online and in-person court hearings that occur during the day.  We also are working on identifying additional individual/small group experiential opportunities outside of our formal meetings, including shadowing opportunities.

Meeting Calendar.  Our meetings from October through December and February through April will take place on the first Tuesday of each month.  Each meeting will start promptly at 6:30 p.m. and will be 60-90 minutes in length. In January, our meeting will be on the second Tuesday of the month so we can observe the Indianapolis Bar Association’s Legal Line.  Here is our tentative calendar for the 2023-24 school year.
